Vogue 8767 – Jacket and Dress toile

Today’s project was the toile for Vogue 8767 – the dress.  Fairly basic construction, although the jabot facing was a little fiddly.  We’re doing this in a medium weight silk with a nice drape, so hopefully the bias facing will go in easier than the bias tape I cheated with for the toile. ;)

And, the bodice detail.  The jabot will be in a sheer fabric – so it should lay in very soft folds, unlike my muslin mockup here!

And: with the jacket!  LOVE it!

OMG, that looks so awesome as a full outfit! I’d wear that style to work (in dark colors, of course ;-). Impeccable tailoring too. Can’t wait to see the final creation.

      Thank you!

Yes – these fitted 30’s dresses are really, really appealing to me. I have a feeling that I will be making myself a few of these over the summer. There is something so classic and timeless about them!

This is super cute and you even made the toile look as finished as the final garment! Great job! :)
