Irish Dress
The first Irish Dress shown is my own, done in light blue cotton twill with black lacing grommets at the shoulders and front. This was thrown together for a ‘Day of Wrong’ costume, where our group all went as Disney Princesses. I was Belle, and chose to add a few different touches to the costume. The Irish Dress is paired with a white linen apron, square-necked shift and ruffled partlet.
The second and third dresses shown were made for my friend Shani – the green and black one was for her wedding, and the plaid one was made with the leftover fabric from her husband’s kilt fabric. Both dresses have a more sweetheart neckline as opposed to the square neckline in my “‘Belle” dress, and have bias binding and piping along the edges.
